薔薇（學名：Rosa multiflora），又稱野薔薇，是一種蔓藤爬籬笆的小花，比較耐寒，有野生的，可以藥用。英語Multiflora Rose、Baby Rose、Rambler Rose。

玫瑰、月季和薔薇其實都是薔薇屬植物，之間只有種類上的區別而沒有科屬上的差異。在漢語中人們習慣把花朵直徑大、單生的品種稱為玫瑰或月季，小朵叢生的稱為薔薇。但在英語中它們均稱為rose。

英國歷史上的紅白薔薇戰爭（Wars of the Roses）就是因為戰爭雙方兩個家族的族徽分別為紅薔薇和白薔薇，現在有誤譯為紅白玫瑰戰爭的，其實當時英國根本沒有玫瑰，也沒有培養月季。薔薇能生長在寒冷的英國並成為當時最香的花。

玫瑰Rosa rugosa(浜茄)
玫瑰在植物分類學上是指一種薔薇科薔薇屬灌木Rosa rugosa，在日常生活中是薔薇屬一系列花大艷麗的栽培品種的統稱，這些栽培品種亦可稱做月季或薔薇。

玫瑰果實可食，無糖，富含維他命C，常用於香草茶、果醬、果凍、果汁和麪包等，亦有瑞典湯（Nyponsoppa）、蜂蜜酒（Rhodomel）。

1. Hector是我最喜歡的希臘英雄之一。他是特洛依(Troy) 王Priam五十個兒子中，最善良，最溫柔，最友愛弟弟Paris 的兄長。Paris 因為拐帶海倫回特洛依，引來希臘大軍登陸追殺，歷時十年。所有特洛依城的人對海倫都非常鄙視，只有Hector善待她。

每一次，當我讀到Achilles在特洛依城外追殺Hector段落時，都忍不住落淚。他死後被Achilles蹂躪尸體（那是當時的戰爭習俗），父親Priam千里跋涉去求Achilles返還兒子尸體的段落，是荷馬《伊里亞德》的終章，也是最令人難忘的部分。


2. 狗玫瑰（dog rose）現在是台灣園藝業者製作樹玫瑰的重要材料（當成O木來用......O是一個我不會打的字）。
